Managing a full scheme buy-in as corporate sole trustee

Acting as sole corporate trustee and working closely with a range of scheme advisers, we project managed a full scheme buy-in for a client against the backdrop of the first COVID-19 lockdown .

We completed the Scheme’s phased buy-in journey in just under 3 years – substantially ahead of the original target of 10 years. The acceleration was made possible due to a combination of strong asset performance, favourable insurance pricing, good preparation and agile decision making by both the Trustee and the Companies.

Our strong project management skills, demonstrated the value of being able to move quickly and effectively when pricing conditions are favourable to secure members’ benefits. We brought the project in on time, and on budget – despite the complexities of the whole project happening virtually.
