Lewis Drew

Lewis works as co-trustee and as part of a sole trustee team and has also provided secretariat and remote support to in-house pension teams in absence of a pensions manager. Through performing these roles, Lewis has experience of complex committee structures with varied reporting lines, negotiations during parent company acquisitions and the establishment of a global governance framework, as well as the day-to-day tasks associated with the role of pensions manager/scheme secretary.

Lewis has experience with the project management of exercises such as buy-ins, liability management exercises and Trustee Board effectiveness reviews, where he has worked collaboratively with external advisers to ensure their timely completion. Lewis has worked with a variety of trustee boards in his role as scheme secretary, including those that include non-professional trustees. In these roles, Lewis was able to explain the nuances of technical pension aspects in a language understandable to those without a pensions background, which also helped when engaging with company stakeholders outside of the pensions team.

In his role as a professional trustee, Lewis has worked on DC arrangements where he has completed Value for Member assessments and successful wind-ups following transfers to Master Trusts, and in the DB space has been involved in negotiations with TPR and PPF on distressed employer cases and implemented successful de-risking journey plans.

Prior to becoming a professional trustee, Lewis worked at a consultancy based in the Midlands as the lead administrator for a number of defined benefit, defined contribution and hybrid pension schemes. As part of this work, Lewis also assumed the role of scheme secretary for a number of trustee boards.

Lewis is fully accredited as a professional trustee by the Association of Professional Pension Trustees.
